| Clifford Carl Romig Passed Away: October 1989 Clifford "Cliff" was born in Barberton November 15, 1902 and was a lifelong resident. In High School, he was called "Farmer Romig". He was an aggressive lineman and lettered in football three years. He played in the famous "Thumbtack" grid game against Medina in 1918. In his later years, he was groundskeeper at the football stadium for 20 years until he retired. Cliff was inducted into the Barberton Sports Hall of Fame in 1982.
