Gwen L. Williamson, 88, passed away on September 12, 2007.

She was born in Barberton and was raised in Barberton and Greenville, Ohio and graduated from Barberton High School in 1936. Gwen married Robert O. Williamson on August 19, 1939. They resided in Barberton, were longtime members of First Lutheran Church in Barberton and later joined Faith Lutheran Church in Fairlawn when they moved to Bath. She was a former member of Akron City Club and Portage Country Club.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Lightner and brother, John (Jack) Lightner, Jr. She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Robert; sons, R. Kipp (Karen) of Doylestown, Joel (Veronica) of Rootstown; daughter, Marilyn (Lyle) Burgmann of South Carolina; half brother, Howard Lightner; grandchildren, R. Kirk (Sandy) Williamson, Kara (James) Bukowski, Mary (Joseph) Fantozzi, Lisa Thomas, Drew Williamson, Matthew Williamson; great-grand-children, Kelby, Tyler, and Kendall Williamson, Lauren and Katherine Bukowski, and Kayleen Thomas.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Pastor Jean Hansen officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 2726 W. Market St., Akron 44333 or your favorite charity.
