Tribute to the Class of '73 by Jackie (Jacobs) Moore

Changing Leaves Memories of Friendships

As gentle as a snowflake, or a faint whisper in the breeze
Softly float the memories like changing Autumn leaves.
If green leaves are the start of life, with a promise that, in time...
The changing colors that may follow, will "our lives" define.
Our Yellow years were cautious, learning as we grew.
Our Orange and Brown, adventurous, showing what we could do!
Our Red years are reflections, our present and our past
Evoking precious memories of friendships we knew would last.
Perhaps we shared a class or two, or maybe nodded in the hall.
Wherever you went in Barberton, there was "Purple Pride" for all!
We shared part of your seasons as the colors changed, it's true,
that made a difference in our lives, for we were friends with you.
You were called home early, only destiny knew your fate.
But your changing leaves of Autumn shine on through Heaven's gate.
